Logically, you would think that replacing tiles that are cracked would be better than repairing them with a roof tile epoxy. Looking at this independently of other factors the answer is yes, replacing the cracked tile with a new one is better.
However, most home owners do not have leftover tiles from the original install. In many cases even if you do they have not been stored in the same way and will still look different than the tiles installed on your roof.
Beyond cosmetics, the real consideration comes down to risk vs. reward. The act of removing a tile can often break the tile next to it. You risk damaging the true waterproofing barrier and adding penetrations that need to be sealed which adds more risk long term. So you have to weigh the pros and cons when deciding whether or not to replace or repair tile.
